Digestive Issues can have a variety of causes. Diet is of course the major player. Finding a diet that works for you is important. But often times I meet people who are following all the “right” dietary guidelines and they still have difficulty. My focus is on the nervous system which is what tells your bowels what to do. If your system has been irritated for a long time then your bowels are often over reactive and over sensitive. This is because of the patterns of stress stored in your nervous system. When we can clear your body of these patterns of stress and tension then it your body will have a chance to reboot and start to heal your gut so the symptoms can resolve.
Hi there everyone my name is Dr. Matt Kreinheder from Unwind Chiropractic here in Rochester, NY and what I want to share with you today is some information about digestive issues.
Digestive Issues can be anything from Crohn’s to IBS. They can be any of these kind of things that happen and upset the way the food is digesting in our system. I want to share with you why it is happening and what you can do about it.
First of all why? Now diet is a major player of course, the food you are putting in your body is the primary player of what is happening and why you’re having these issues. Stress is also another major one. When we’re experiencing stress whether its physical, chemical, emotional or mental, these things, this stress, our body and our physiology respond in a certain way and it can have an impact on the way we are digesting food.
The third one and the one I really pay a lot of attention to is the nervous system. The nervous system controls absolutely everything that is happening in the body. Every single cell in the body except the blood cells which are mobile are controlled by the nervous system. It tells the cells what to do and what not to do. You know when your digesting or not digesting well, what the cells are doing is really a major player.
So what do you do about it? Well find a supportive diet. I want to explain this just a little bit. People often think, well I have to be Vegan or I have to do all raw food, that might be the right thing and it might not be. I also have a degree in Chinese Medicine and we look at things from a very specific perspective for each person. One diet might not be the right thing for everyone and it might not be the right thing for you, especially raw food in these northern climates. So find a diet that really works for you.
The thing that I like to help people with is, let’s get your nervous system to a place where it can actually handle change. Sometimes it gets ramped up to threshold, the body gets to a place where it is overwhelmed and even when you are eating the right foods it can’t take them in, it cant assimilate and it can’t help you digest well if you are overstimulated and you are overwhelmed in your nervous system.
Getting your body to calm down and to slow down and reboot its ability to handle food and to digest food and get you the nutrients and get everything else out is something I’ve helped a number of people with and if you’d like some help with it I’d be more than willing to help you out as well.
